Our 7-Herb Italian Balsamic is one of our most popular additions to the California Balsamic family of specialty balsamic vinegar flavors. A savory blend of our premium white balsamic with an Italian herb blend courtesy of our friend in the SOS-free community Nick over at Local Spicery, the Italian Herb Balsamic can be used as an excellent oil-free dressing or as a finishing sauce over vegetables, salads, fish, pizza, chicken or steaks. Mix with your favorite oil for a vibrant Italian vinaigrette, or enjoy drizzled over straight for an oil-free recipe.

    This balsamic surpasses any Italian dressing on the market!
    Also great on pasta instead of using tomato sauce, or on my zoodles with broccoli and spinach!
    I also used it in making spaghetti gravy, since I don’t use it any sweeteners this was a delicious alternative!

    Wow, so versatile! My husband, doesn’t like any vinegars but this, he says he can drink it, it’s so good. I not only use it for salads, steamed veggies, pasta and marinade for cornish hens but I love it to dip my evening snack of salt free pretzels, into. They can taste a little like cardboard but with the 7 Herb Italian Balsamic, they’re as good as any gourmet pretzel!

    I was watching a you tube video last week in which Jane and Anne Esselstyn were making marinated roasted red bell peppers. I had opened a rather large jar and was trying to figure out what to do with the ones I did not use in the recipe I made. They chopped garlic and proceeded to measure out 5 other herbs along with 3 Tbl. of a red wine vinegar. I thought I’ll just use your 7 Herb Italian Balsamic along with freshley minced garlic. Don’t need to measure out all those herbs. (I know, how lazy can one be?!) Delish! This will be a great addition to sandwiches, pasta salads, regular salads, bean salads. When I use to eat dairy, Ina Garten had a goat cheese and marinated red bell pepper sandwich which I thought was just fabulous!

    I enjoyed this on my salad but was really surprised at how sweet it is. I’m not used to sweet Italian dressings and was a little disappointed by its sweetness. How can I adjust this to make it more savory than sweet?

      Hi Trudy, Patrick with California Balsamic here. We make all of our products as more of a concentrate, very thick and rich. To adjust the flavor and the sweetness of the balsamic down, we suggest adding a light splash of a more traditionally tart white vinegar alongside it in the dish. Should give you a close match for the flavor you want, and lets you dial it exactly to taste. Same works with our dark balsamic flavors, you can use them alongside either a more traditional dark balsamic or our Organic Dark balsamic to thin them down and increase the tartness while maintaining the flavor. 🙂
